Which Deer Repellent Works Best?

Hands down, the most frequent question we get at Bobbex is, “Does it really work?”

Well, yes it does, but you don’t have to take our word for it. The Connecticut Department of Forestry and Horticulture answered that question by conducting an independent scientific study. The results were published in the peer-reviewed journal Human-Wildlife Interactions.

The study tested 10 different commercially available repellents on Evergreen Yews, which are virtually irresistible to deer. The efficacy of the various repellents was measured and compared to that of a physical fence and no protection at all. The study was conducted over the course of two growing seasons.

It came as no surprise to us that Bobbex was the winning repellent by far – second only to a physical fence. The study rated the “protection index” of a physical fence at 100%, while Bobbex was close behind at 93%. The next closest competitor lagged behind at 83%, and several repellents hovered at or around 50%.
